The Power in the Blood of Jesus

As Christians, we plead the blood of Jesus, we sing about the blood, we even apply the blood of Jesus in prayers. The blood of Jesus is very powerful and potent. But how many of us actually realize how powerful it is?

The blood of Jesus is powerful enough to secure our victory, our healing, our breakthrough and authority over the devil. The very life of Jesus runs through His blood that was shed, and we must realize that it is available for us.

God loves us so much. That is the reason why He gave His only Son – Jesus, for our redemption. The basis of our salvation is the blood of Jesus. If Jesus hadn’t died, if he hadn’t shed His own blood, we wouldn’t have been saved from the power of sin and the devil. The blood of Jesus secured the New and perfect Testament for us. That is is why the Bible says in,

“Hebrews 9:16 and 22 (KJV) For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”

These two verses point to the fact that if Jesus had not shed His blood, we would not have been saved. Wow! Thank you Saviour for sacrificing your self for us. We are eternally grateful.

For us to deeply understand how powerful the blood of Jesus is, we need to see the significance of that precious blood and its importance. We need to know what the blood of Jesus has done, and what it can do. Knowing this will help us apply it more often and with reverence in our day to day challenges.

“Isaiah 53:5 (KJV) But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

The stripes laid on Jesus, that brought out blood has secured healing for us. We must realize this, we must also maximize it.

We have Authority over the devil:

We have authority over the devil through the blood of Jesus.

“Revelation 12:11 (KJV) And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
