“Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) – Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Our lives as Christians is characterized by recurrent and immeasurable benefits, given to us by God. One of such privileges, is the fact that we can approach the throne of God with boldness. This undeserved privilege is made possible by Jesus Christ – the Son of God.
In the Old Testament, the Israelites couldn’t enter into the holies of holies (the presence of God) at all. It was only the high priest that could enter into that room, and he could only do that once in a year. When he enters, he begs for his sins and the sin of the people, and offers the blood of rams and bulls.
However, when Christ came and died for the whole world, he offered himself as the last and perfect sacrifice for sin. The robe partitioning the holies of holies from the other sections of the temple was torn from the top to the bottom. Now, everyone has access to the Father, through Jesus.
“Hebrews 10:19-21 (KJV) – Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
And having an high priest over the house of God”
Anyone who believes on the name of Jesus can boldly enter into the holies of holies without any form of fear, not by attainment or right, but by sheer privilege and matchless grace. Our lives as believers could be totally transformed if we could grasp the extent of Christ’s sacrifice that makes this possible.
When we approach the throne of grace, we must know that the Father’s arms are open, ready to receive us at any time. We are not condemned. We are beloved. We can pour our pain, our anxieties, our confusion, our insecurities, our doubts to Him and He will surely soothe and comfort us.
When we pour our hearts to God, there is nothing like we being “too frank” or “too honest” or “too blunt”. In deep reverence, we must bare our hearts to God, not being ashamed of what is on our mind. God wants to hear exactly what we have to say.
Our faith in God, is in His ability. When you believe God for a particular issue, you are saying “God I know you are capable to do this thing”. And this can only be possible, if we approach him with confidence and trust Him.
“Psalm 9:10 (AMP) – And they who know Your name [who have experience and acquaintance with Your mercy] will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of and for) You [on the authority of God’s Word and the right of their necessity].”
If you want to enjoy this great privilege of approaching God with confidence, you need to believe in His Son Jesus. He is the one who can give you unlimited access to the throne of grace. The Bible says in Acts 2:21 “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Call on His name today, he will save you and reveal His presence in your heart.
Prayer: Father, I am sorry for all my sins. Please, let the blood of Jesus that was shed on Calvary cleanse me from all my unrighteousness and filth. I believe that Jesus died for my sins and that you raised Him from the dead. I run into your open arms today. Please receive me and let me be yours forever. Amen.
