Welcome to another episode on The Gospel Exposition Blog. Today, we will be considering the topic which says “Christ alone.”
1 John 5 (NIV)
11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
From the text above, we can see that life is found in Christ alone. Man was dead in sin, lifeless, helpless and needed help but man couldn’t save himself from the grips of sin and death. For man to be saved, there had to be an external help. Therefore, God came down in the person of His Son, Jesus, to save man. This Man Jesus, came to give life to the merely existing man, and this life is found in Him (Christ) alone. Hear what He said in the scripture below.
John 14 (NIV)
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Jesus by Himself made a proclamation that no other man has ever made nor dared to utter. Many religious leaders and so called prophets have come and gone, none had been able to declare himself as the way, or the truth, or the life. Most of them said they came to show the Way.
Jesus is the only one who boldly said, l am the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus didn’t come to show the way, he rather is the way which all men are pointing to. Christ alone is the sole
way, Christ alone is the sole truth, and Christ alone is the sole life. In him was life and this life was the light of men.
Abundance of life is the life that Christ gives. His coming to the world was to give life to the dead and lifeless souls which the devil has held captive – under his power and authority. But glory be to God, Christ ransomed men from their enemy, which is the devil. His blood was the ransom for eternal life.
John 10:10b (NIV)
I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Are you reading this and have not yet given your life to Christ? Don’t harden your heart further. Christ is knocking the door of your heart today. Would you open the door so that He can come in? You have to do this because Christ alone is the access to God. There is no other shortcut other than this.
Are you ready? I congratulate you for this beautiful decision. Say this prayer after me: “Lord Jesus, here I am before you. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and lifeless. I receive you today. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you died and rose from the dead for my sake. From this day on, please be the Lord and Saviour of my life.”. Did you say the prayer and mean it? Congratulations! You have been redeemed. Find a word and praying church in your area, join them and endeavour to grow. God bless you.
We trust that this blessed you. Don’t forget to join us again next week for another episode on this blog. Kindly share this truth with family and friends. God bless you richly. Amen.
