Prayer is a means of communication with God as well as a potent and vital tool for believers to access the spiritual realm. Prayer is also a platform for spiritual growth (bible study and prayer makes us grow). It is important to know that we must pray with thanksgiving. A good prayer is one that is without murmuring, anger or complain but with absolute thanksgiving and focus on God.
It is important that we pray as Christians. The Bible says that we should pray without ceasing or season.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 (MSG)
“Pray at all times.”
We should pray at all times without wavering. There’s no particular time for prayers. It should be done regularly and always. When we pray, we receive impartation as well as soothing experience (refreshing) by the Spirit of God. Prayer is potent. You should not take it lightly. It is also a lifestyle to cultivate. Let prayer be your culture. Make praying your habit.
Prayers can be worship or thanksgiving. The Bible tells us to be thankful in all circumstances. 1 Thess. 5:18. In Mark 6:41, Jesus gave thanks, which is a form of prayer, and broke the loaves to be shared among His 5000 congregation. The songs of Moses after the Israelites crossed the sea and that of Hannah when she gave birth to Samuel were prayers of worship unto God.
We access faith and spiritual growth through prayers and especially praying in the Holy Ghost. Jude 20. Prayer supplies us strength- spiritual, mental, psychological and even physical. Anytime you are weak, just know that it’s time to pray.
Through our prayers, battles are won, mountains are shaken, shackles are broken, plains are leveled. What is needful is our faith. Everything is possible for the person who has faith.
“Mark 9:23 (AMP) – And Jesus said, [You say to Me], If You can do anything? [Why,] all things can be (are possible) to him who believes!”
Lack of faith may hinder answers to prayer. God expects our absolute trust in Him. Therefore, when you pray, let your faith be strong and immovable. Heb. 11:6, 8-12. Unbelief is a similar hindrance to answered prayers. God wants us to have confidence towards Him. 1 John 5:14-15. Another thing that may not make you see result is sin. Sin breaks relationship with God. When a believer sins, communication between him and God becomes ineffective. God delights in the prayers and supplication of the righteous. Proverbs 15:8. Beautify your prayer life by living righteously and not giving occasion to the corruption of the world.
Dear friends, let us learn to pray. Pray in the good and bad times. We are in the month of election, let us pray for peace within the borders of Nigeria. Let us pray for a smooth, fair and credible election. Let us ask God to have His way. In your family, pray for everyone. Remember your friends and everyone you know that you can pray for. Pray for the church. The Lord prosper us and cause us to prosper the world with the gospel of Christ. Amen.
We hope that you have been blessed. Kindly share with family and friends. God bless you.
