PRAY FOR THE GOSPEL

Proverbs 14:34 says, “Righteousness exalts a nation.” Only through the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the righteousness of God revealed. Romans 1:16-17 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ…For therein (the Gospel) is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith.” Therefore, if we are to see our nation exalted in righteousness, we must preach, and keep preaching the Gospel.

Our country is blessed to have so many Christians; we have experienced unprecedented growth and impact of the Gospel in our nation. Some of the greatest revival meetings, crusades, and Christian gatherings in the world have taken place in our country, but there is so much more to be done. There are still so many who are yet to hear and receive the good news of Christ’s salvation.

This is why it is important, as God’s people, that we pray for Christian ministries. We must pray that more doors of opportunity will open for the Gospel to be preached unhindered throughout the nation. We must pray for victory over every power, force, agent, thought, plan against the gospel of Christ in this country. We must pray for strength, courage and more grace for every minister and especially those who take care of the word, prayer and evangelism. We must pray that God will frustrate every force militating against God’s people across the country. We must pray for the peace and safety of all believers. We must pray that God will uphold his servants so that they will not fall and fail God. We must pray for unity amongst us. One of the major factor hindering the progress of the spread of the gospel in Nigeria is lack of unity. Every denomination wants to be known. They all want to be heard and recognized. Let us pray that God should make us one, so that him alone will take the glory.

Pray today for all those who hear the Gospel, and declare in the Name of Jesus, that as they believe and receive it, no devil will steal the Word from their hearts. The Word will grow and prevail in them, and they are delivered from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan, unto God. Decree that more souls be won into the Kingdom of God from all over the country and established in righteousness.

Beloved, it is our responsibility, as responsible believers to pray, make requests and intercede always and whenever necessary.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
[17]Pray without ceasing.
1 Timothy 2:1-4
[1]I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
[2]For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
[3]For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
[4]Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

May God give us the grace and wisdom to pray as we ought to. Amen.
