“John 14:17-18 (KJV) Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”

As a believer, a constant truth you must affirm and hold dear is that you are not alone. God’s presence in the person of his Spirit is with you at every point in time and at every moment.

When Jesus was preparing to die for the world and go back to the Father, he admonished the disciples and told them things that would sustain them through their impending ministry. They were sad that he would leave them, it was visible in the words they spoke. However, Jesus promised them that he would never leave them comfortless nor without help. And that help Jesus sent was the Holy Spirit.

This promise that Jesus made in John 14:17-18 is for us also. Though, he now sits on the right hand of God in heaven, his Spirit lives within us without limit. His life dwells inside of us and we can never be comfortless. Despite the wave of depression sweeping all around the world and the feeling of incompetency reigning in the hearts of men making them put an end to their lives, Christ is telling us today that we are not alone. We have the Spirit of the Most High that reminds us of our great value in the sight of God.

To the heaven bound, Christ pleasing Christian, this promise is one that should elicit the joy of God from the inside. If we understand this promise of Christ and the fulfilment in the provision of the Holy Spirit, we would live our lives totally dependent on Jesus. When we are going through trials, disappointment, setbacks, delays and what-nots, our hope, though swayed by our travails, yet its foundation is in the assurance that the Holy Spirit is with us.

John 14:27 (KJV) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

I know that I am not alone. I have learnt to rely on the Spirit of God, I am even learning to trust his gentle whispers and frequent nudges in my day to day activities. I hope you would do the same today. I hope you would allow peace sprout in your heart from the assurance that you’re not alone. I hope you would release yourself to the Holy Spirit so he can make your Christian life beautiful and radiant.

I believe you were blessed by this piece. Kindly share with your family and friends. God bless you!
