Psalms 136:1 (KJV)
[1]O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Our God is rich with mercy. Oh yes! He is rich with kindness. His mercy endures forever. The whole verse of Psalms chapter 136 sings and declares God’s mercy. God is truly full of mercy and that is why he made eternal provision for the forgiveness of our sins. Mercy goes hand in hand with forgiveness. There is no forgiveness where there is no mercy. God is a merciful God. That is whom he is. He is God who forgives all our sins, not because we deserve it, but because he is merciful.

Everyone of us has lived on God’s mercy. We have all survived on the mercy of God. It is by his mercy that we are not consumed. You see, God knows you more than you know yourself. He sees every of your actions in the darkest corners. But there’s forgiveness with God almighty, so that we may fear him and be inspired not to sin against him.

Psalms 130:3-4 (KJV)
[3]If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
[4]But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

God forgives us so that we may discern his love toward us. He is always kind unto us, not imputing on us our trespasses, so that we may know how much he loves us and in turn love him by keeping his commandments.

It is easy to point fingers at the other and say: “your sins are worst than mine”. My friend, that is a lie. Everyone deserves mercy. Thank God for his rich mercy that always abound toward us, we would have all been consumed.

Shall we go on sinning because God his merciful? Definitely not. See, a little leaven leavens the whole lump. Sin affects your whole life. It affects your life completely and totally. Don’t be intentional about it. Run away from every appearance of sin and evil.

1 Thessalonians 5:22 (KJV)
[22]Abstain from all appearance of evil.

The Bible tells us to embrace the love of God and stay awake to righteousness. For believers, God’s mercy is his provision of multiple chances to awake to righteousness. Titus 2:11-12. He wants you to leave your old life and put on the new man which is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Ephesians 4:24 (KJV)
[24]And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

God’s mercy is not for the believers alone. He’s also merciful to the unsaved, that is why he made a provision for their salvation through the body of Jesus. They only have to believe and live.

Today, just like every moment, God’s mercy is reaching out to you. His mercy is new everyday.

God’s mercy never fades.
God’s mercy never diminishes.
God’s mercy never fails.
God’s mercy never quits.
The brightness of his mercy does not go dim. It’s ever shinning and ever abounding – passing human judgement.
Wouldn’t you rather embrace the life changing transformation his mercy gives and supplies? Turn your worries over to God, for he cares for you. Do not allow the devil take advantage of you, God is rich with mercy and he will save you when you come to him. Come today, you will be glad you did. God bless you.
